Letter to Congress to ensure youth and adults impacted by the criminal legal system are a priority in the American Jobs plan.
In recognition of Second Chance Month, CLASP joined over 90 criminal justice, workforce development, antipoverty, and racial equity stakeholders and advocates in calling for Congress to ensure youth and adults impacted by the criminal legal system remain a priority in the American Jobs Plan.
The organizations call for Congress to significantly increase funding for the current workforce development system, as well as ensure that this population is a target group for any new job creation and subsidized employment efforts. Ensuring that people impacted by the criminal legal system have access to quality workforce training and employment opportunities is imperative to redressing systemic racism and advancing racial equity.
