Lisa Ellis

Interim Chief Operating Officer

Lisa Ellis is the interim Chief Operating Officer (COO) at CLASP.

Lisa has over 12 years of experience as a COO in social and environmental impact organizations, and over 20 years of experience in impact-oriented organizations. During that time, Lisa has had responsibility for finance and accounting, human resources, IT, facilities and regulatory compliance.

Lisa most recently served as the president and COO at New Island Capital Management, an impact investment firm. Prior to that, while at Landesa, an international land rights advocacy nonprofit, she led several change management initiatives to improve compliance, financial transparency and operational efficiencies. Lisa has also served as regional director at Habitat for Humanity International and as a Peace Corps Country Director in Guinea and South Africa.

Lisa holds a juris doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and a bachelor’s degree in economics from UCLA.
