Latest Salvo in Attack on Immigrants

The conservative majority of the U.S. Supreme Court sided today with President Trump in upholding his Muslim travel ban. For more than a year, the Trump Administration has been relentless in its ongoing attacks on immigrants and communities of color through the Muslim ban and other executive orders, along with court challenges, proposed changes to immigrant rules and policies, legislation, and constant hateful rhetoric. The Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) has documented the harm to young children caused by this avalanche of threats.

This ban on travelers from certain majority-Muslim countries endangers the safety and wellbeing of children and families fleeing violence and persecution. It undermines our aspiration to be a land of opportunity for immigrants and refugees and upholds discrimination against people based on their national origin and religion.

CLASP stands with immigrants and refugees as well as those who serve them. We will continue to work closely with advocacy and legal partners at the federal, state, and local levels to push back on this and other destructive proposals.
