CLASP, Employees Reach Voluntary Recognition of Union
Washington, D.C., July 29, 2024 – The Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) and the Office and Professional Employees International Union, Local 2, AFL-CIO are pleased to announce the voluntary recognition of the CLASP Workers United union.
“This is an important moment for CLASP because of our commitment to supporting and advancing workers’ rights, which is integral to our mission to end poverty and promote economic security and equity,” said CLASP interim Executive Director Olivia Golden. “We appreciate the hard work of CLASP staff, OPEIU, Local 2 leadership, and CLASP management for making this possible.”
“Our membership at CLASP are advocates of change. Organizing was a natural way for them to utilize a collective voice in the workplace. We look forward to a healthy relationship and forming a partnership with management,” said Linda Bridges, President, OPEIU, Local 2.
